We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Colchester who are seeking an inspirational and dedicated Headteacher to join their leadership team from January 2027.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and committed school leader with a clear vision for high-quality education and a strong commitment to ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
The Role
As Headteacher, you will provide strong strategic and day-to-day leadership across the school, working closely with staff, pupils, parents, governors and the wider school community.
You will be responsible for creating a positive, inclusive and ambitious school environment, while supporting staff to deliver consistently high standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care.
The successful candidate will:
Provide inspirational leadership and a clear strategic vision for the school
Lead and develop teaching and learning across the school
Support, motivate and develop staff
Promote high standards of behaviour, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Build positive relationships with parents, governors and the wider community
Ensure all pupils are supported to achieve their academic and personal potential
Monitor and drive continuous school improvement
Maintain high standards of safeguarding and ensure the welfare of pupils remains a priority
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a passionate and experienced school leader who can demonstrate:
Previous senior leadership experience within a primary school setting
A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and current educational expectations
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to inspire and develop staff
A commitment to inclusion and providing opportunities for every pupil
Strong organisational and strategic skills
A positive, approachable and collaborative leadership style
A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
