Important information regarding workplace pension re-enrolment

We want to make all PAYE workers aware of an upcoming update relating to workplace pensions.

By law, all employers in the UK are required to automatically re-enrol eligible workers into a workplace pension scheme every three years, even if they have previously chosen to opt out. This is a government legal requirement that applies across all employers and is not something specific to Athona Education.

If you have previously opted out of the NEST pension scheme, you may therefore be automatically re-enrolled over the next few weeks, if you are eligible under the government criteria.

What this means for you

If you are re-enrolled, this may appear as a pension deduction on your payslip, but if you do not wish to remain in the pension scheme, you can opt out again after re-enrolment. If you choose to do so, any contributions taken will be refunded in line with scheme rules.

What you need to do

No action is required unless you wish to opt out, but please feel free to contact the team and we will support you with the process if you do not want to be part of the pension scheme.
