Position: SENCO Teacher (maternity cover)
Key Stage: KS3-KS4
Start date: ASAP and/or September
The role:
We are currently recruiting for a SENCO Teacher. This is a long-term role working with one of our partner schools. This position has full teaching responsibility and will be paid to scale from day one. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for an interim role or not looking to commit to a permanent position at present. The ideal candidate would be a fully qualified teacher however, instructors or unqualified teachers would be considered for this role.

The applicant:
To lead, manage and oversee the operation of the school’s SEND strategy and policy in accordance with the published national SEN policy and the SEND code of practice 2014. Ensure the school is compliant with SEND legislation and requirements and to keep up to date with best practice from SEND networks.
To work with the SLT lead for Inclusion to produce an annual SEND Development Plan in an agreed format, reviewed in line with the School Improvement Plan.
To help co-ordinate staff training on SEND issues so as to ensure first quality teaching. To play a key role in coaching and training staff, by modelling and sharing best practice. To exemplify and model best practice in your own teaching.
To provide regular updates on student progress through written reports and meetings with parents, including pastoral reintegration meetings, where appropriate. To confidently know the progress and predictions of SEND students.
Qualifications – Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), instructors/unqualified teachers will be considered
Undertake full teaching responsibilities
Effectively teach the UK curriculum to the highest standards.
Deliver fun and engaging lessons that also challenge and develop learning.
Communicate effectively key staff members.
Will adhere to professional education guidelines
Be committed to the school’s objectives and their ethos by following school policies such as behaviour
Must be reliable and responsible with good time management skills
