Quality Mark
The Quality Mark was launched in July 2002, as a joint initiative between the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) to help drive up standards for everyone in the sector. The Quality Mark sets minimum standards for agencies and LAs to reach in areas such as the way they recruit and interview supply teachers, the way they check and manage their performance and the way they stay at the forefront of changes in the teaching sector.

Athona was awarded the DCSF Quality Mark in June 2009 and is one of only 98 agencies/LAs to hold the accolade. This further demonstrates our commitment to complying with the highest possible standards within the recruitment industry.

ISO Quality Management System
Athona is committed to ensuring high standards are maintained with all internal and external procedures and has been independently audited and certified to be in conformance with the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System. The requirements for this system include but are not exclusive to:

• A set of procedures that cover all key processes in the business;
• Monitoring processes to ensure they are effective;
• Keeping adequate records;
• Checking output for defects, with appropriate and corrective action where necessary;
• Regularly reviewing individual processes and the quality system itself for effectiveness; and
• Facilitating continual improvement
